9. Sparky’s Day of Service

Each year, Sun Devils demonstrate commitment to service through large-scale events and everyday service. Opportunities are available at every campus; dates, times and locations vary.

10. Whitewash the ‘A’

Whitewashing the ‘A’ on ‘A’ Mountain — also known as Hayden Butte — is the wrap-up event of Welcome Week, and every freshman is invited! Painting the A only happens twice a year, and Aug. 18 will be one of those special occasions. It’s one of the longest-standing traditions at ASU, having signaled a fresh new start to the school year since the 1930s. There will be shuttles for this event as well!

There are so many fun Welcome Week events, so go check out the full list for all the events you won’t want to miss and download the Devils on Campus App in the App Store or Google Play to customize your Welcome event plans in the palm of your hand!
